Winona Area Carpool Club

A car that gets 20 mpg generates  one pound of CO2 per mile driven - no wonder transportation exhaust is a leading source of greenhouse gases that contribute to global warming.  If two people share a ride, they can painlessly cut  their carbon emissions in half - not to mention  cutting their transportation costs in half!

Sustain Winona member Martha Greenwald has created the Winona Area Carpool Club, hosted by Google groups.  It is a restricted access on-line club where only registered members can post or view rides.  Members live within 30 miles of  Winona, Minnesota and can use this club to organize a  a carpool or vanpool – whether it is for getting to work or getting the kids to soccer practice.

Winona area residents can contact Martha for more information, or to get invited to join the club. Otherwise, finding someone to share a ride with is easy and convenient using two major websites that have attracted a number of Minnesota users:   The sites are:  www.erideshare.com, and   www.carpoolworld.com. Both these services are free.
